Space-Based Photographs Show Iran's Naval Forces and Atomic Sites Targeted by American and Israeli Strikes.

A wave of joint attacks has according to analysis eliminated or harmed a minimum of 11 Iranian naval vessels starting the weekend, recently obtained aerial photos reveal, with missile bases and nuclear sites also coming under fire.

Pictures of the southern Konarak naval military port and the Bandar Abbas facility, which overlooks the strategic Hormuz Strait and houses the main command of the Iran's naval force, depict plumes of smoke rising from several warships on recent days.

Maritime Forces Incurred Substantial Losses

Included in the vessels destroyed was the Makran, the country's biggest warship which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos showed dark plumes rising from the ship which had been moored at the Bandar Abbas base.

Intelligence reports state that at least five vessels at Bandar Abbas were "damaged or eliminated". Pictures of the southern part of the harbor depict smoke emanating from the Makran, while another pair of vessels appear to be damaged, with a single one seen burning.

At Konarak, images reveal several damaged vessels, with analysis identifying impacts on six ships. Pictures from the start of the week also show that several facilities at the base have been destroyed.

"For a long time the Tehran government has disrupted commercial vessels," the head of US Central Command declared. "Now, there is not a single vessel from Iran at sea in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will continue."

A number of ships allegedly destroyed may have been concealed in satellite images by weather conditions or battle damage, or targeted offshore, and have not been conclusively proven. Other accounts stated that an Iranian vessel was foundering near Sri Lankan territorial waters, resulting in a rescue operation.

Rocket Bases and Nuclear Facilities Targeted

Eliminating Iran's rocket sites and the stopping enrichment activities were declared as additional objectives of the air campaign. Satellite images also revealed impacts against the southern Khorgu base and northwestern Tabriz missile facilities, and at the Konarak air air base, where missile storage facilities and bunkers were struck.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone drone base to the west of Kermanshah, significant destruction was identified to storage buildings, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Destruction was also observed at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase military airport in eastern parts of the country, close to the border with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the new round of strikes have apparently focused on installations at the Natanz complex – considered at the center of the country's atomic program. An international watchdog said that the affected structures were used for entry to the facility's below-ground nuclear plant and that "no nuclear fallout" was anticipated.

Wider Fallout and Assessment

Defense experts suggested that the attacks appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iran's naval capability to conduct standard operations using its biggest warships. Nevertheless, it was emphasised that Tehran maintains the ability to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, mini-submarines and its so-called "clandestine network" of tankers.

The overall extent of the damage caused to Iran's defense infrastructure remains unclear, with attacks said to be continuing. Photos also indicates widespread destruction to the command center of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the capital Tehran.

A large number of civilian buildings also seem to have been struck in the capital city and across the country since the conflict began. Reports of deaths from ground sources indicate that hundreds of civilians may have been lost their lives in the strikes.

Amid continuing hostilities, review of space-based data will carry on to document the unfolding battlefield picture.
