Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US performer Finn, who featured in beloved television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
